I fully intend to have chickens one day but first have to get where I can have them. Button quail are not counted as farm animals here but chickens are and they are sadly not allowed in town. Thank you for the welcome!

Does the heat have to come from above? I have heat tape and was wondering if it could be used to heat the incubator. Also curious if it could be used in the brooder? There would be no direct contact at all.
The only thing I could be certain on was that they needed the test tube style waterer to keep them from drowning or dying from being wet.
