A while back we had some renovations. There was some left over timber & our existing coop was slowly decaying. So We needed a new coop. Rather than just a box to lock up the chickens at night, we wanted something that looked good in the garden. We were all locked down back then so there...
Yes!
The comb colour is a dead give away. I remember my mother teaching me to measure the pelvis with fingers 50 years ago. Back then it was a bad day for the not layers!
It's a great article. I'm just a bit concerned about what happens now we can all easily identify the non-layers. If...
I've seen them do that with dirt. Dirt, water, dirt, water, dirt, water, dirt, water. They are either deliberately getting the water dirty, or playing making mud.
Sunny 15C to 30C (59F to 86F) Summer just west of Sydney (almost in the mountains).
Don't think it ever snows here but we get a few frosty mornings each year.
If you had screw on end caps you could leave the whole thing in place & just unscrew the caps & hose out the tube. There'd be a lot of water everywhere but it'd be clean.
Freezing is not an issue for me thankfully. Nipples is obviously much better - zero cleaning. I had some bottles with nipples - they would use them when shown, but otherwise never touched em. The cups require no training. When they try to get the last bit out they can't help but push the...

"She took about three weeks to learn to use it."
I made something similar but the girls haven't learned how to use it (yet). Came here to see if there was a better way. Looks like I just have to wait another 2 weeks. Yours is a great design!
