    Thank you. Nothing unusual in the diet, it's medicated chick starter. A lot of the birds were born with THICC legs but the father is a Black Orpington and he's a big boy.

    This chick has super irregular feather patterns, we can't figure out why. none of the other hatchlings look like this- it's eating and drinking fine but it's feathers are obviously not developing. Any ideas?

    Breed identification

    We bought these at a local feed store about 4 weeks ago, they were housed with the guinea fowl, but it quickly became evident that they are not guineas. Anybody have a guess at this tiny little bird?

    Thanks for the information. That's what we were thinking. We are actively checking the yard for a guinea fowl nest, it looks to be the right size for them, and they do have (now known) access to the turkey pen. Glad to know theres nothing wrong with my turkey :)
