Can she get sick from people? I just got over something. Now I feel soo bad!! She eats chicken food and has'n't laid since her injury last fall. She is three.poops are a little runny to normal. She drinks water on her own now. But I have to torpedo feed her. We are in Ohio and are in the middle...
Baby has watery eyes. She seems OK but with birds who knows? I have not heard any sneezing. She is indoors of course. They are very watery both eyes. Any ideas why or what to do? I don't see any signs of infection yet. I appreciate any thoughts or experiences.
I would keep them in the run for a few days then let them decide if they want to venture out. They are flock animals so try to replace the ones you lost. Don't feel bad when you have dogs sometimes it happens.
No not here it seems to be a sprain but temps are going to be 0 with - 30 wind chills the other strays are coming in . I hope they don't have fleas. My animals have soresto collars but we will be fair game. She will be happy to see her family at least. What can you do?
No just rest and splint I don't have 1000 to drop on a stray. I wish I could. The shelter will not take her. I paid to get them all fixed and vaccines which was alot already. There was a whole litter dumped at the barn. I am hoping if she stays off it. It will be OK. I haven't cought her yet. So...
I have a barn cat that has a broken leg. It is her front one. She is Ferrell. I plan on catching her today and getting her settled in a cage in the house. Can you give aspirin to a cat? I am not very knowledgeable in cat care. I just can't leave her to fend for herself in this weather. Coyotes...
Yes I agree she is very underweight! I don't know how to get her to gain weight. I give her dry cat food too but I am at a loss on what is nutrient rich and high calorie enough for her. I was thinking dried corn but nutrition wise maybe not. Can you give a bird a multivitamin? I am failing her...
Baby is 2, weighs about 2lb 5 Oz as much she will stay on my scale. She is a black set link. Or mutt. She has no top beak so she is torpedo fed. Nothing but nose.
I feed her til her crop is full then when it seems to empty out feed her again. I have no idea how much as far as measurements go. I have never had to hand feed a bird. She really doesn't preen with only one beak, but seems to fluff her feathers.
Baby was in molt in November when she lost her beak. I have been hand feeding her chicken food, cat food, and fruit veggies but she is limited on that. Her feathers are coming out and they are the new ones. She has no bugs. What am I doing wrong? She has a house chicken for company and gets roam...
She is still passing runny stools and her crop doesn't seem to empty fully but that may be just me not sure yet. I am winging it for sure! I give her a few bites and half a syringe of water. I feed her 3 times a day sometimes more depending on how much she gets in her crop. I make sure it feels...
Baby is eating with the torpedo method and is a lot easier on both of us. She has lost a lot of weight so now I need ideas of how much to feed her to gain again and what would be best. I guess cake wouldn't be the most healthy option but, I know it goes straight to my hind end! Any thoughts I...
Thank you for the help. I really cannot thank you enough, this girl is special and I want her to to overcome this horrible injury. I have never seen such a strong willed chicken.
