Ah dang, I actually just had someone reply back to me last night wanting to pick them up! I'm sorry, I didn't even realize there were more replies on this thread. I'm not far from the Sam's Club, and I'm going to see if I can squeeze out a few more call babies this season. If not though, I'll be...
That's how mine are! Very quiet unless the feeder runs out. Then Guinevere, my white female, will scream at me until I refill it and give her some food too. She's precious and I love her.
I allow mine to free range in my fenced in backyard. I clipped one wing on each, and now that they know there's tons of food and forage here, they've shown no inclination of wanting to leave. They have an enclosure that I lock them in at night to protect them. They can definitely fly, and did...
That's exactly what a bunch of people have told me! That I'm too far to drive to. I have offered to meet them all halfway and they still turn me down. I'm not blaming them, gas is expensive and time is precious, it's just frustrating. I do really appreciate your input and help and everyone...
I appreciate all the help everyone, this is all good info to work off of. I guess I'll cut my (small) losses and sell for $10 each. Yesterday I offered them at $15 to a couple people who had asked, and they ghosted me, so I'll try reaching back out to them with $10 apiece and see how it goes. If...
I'm in Omaha, NE. Not a big city, but not tiny either. Lots of people with small hobby farms around and small flocks, though they're mostly an hour or more away.
I am in my local poultry buy/sell group, and I sold a previous ducking for $20, but it was 7 weeks old. I've only seen one other person selling calls, and it was an adult drake. He didn't get much interest from what I saw.
Darn, that's how much I had been considering for these guys... I see purebred day-old ones from the big hatcheries are $9 each. As you surely know, these guys are hard to hatch! I've only been getting 2-3 per dozen even with humidity and temp carefully controlled. I don't want to sell them for...
Hi all,
After a lot of work, I have hatched a few call ducklings from my small flock. These three are now just over 3 weeks old, and I am not sure what an appropriate asking price would be. They are pet quality, but are certainly pure call ducks. Do any of you know what others charge at each age...
Location: Omaha, NE
Breed: Silkie
Age:20 weeks
Size: Small
I have a 20 week old black silkie rooster, very docile, in Omaha, NE. He doesn't peck and is fine with being handled. There's nothing wrong with him, it's just that our area is not zoned for roosters.
Actually, you might have more luck IN the city - I live in South Omaha, and both chickens and ducks are allowed as long as you get a permit (which is free and easy). When I got my chickens, I just called the Health Department, and an inspector came out to make sure it was a big enough coop...
Hello! I have a 20-week-old black Silkie rooster that needs a loving home. He is very docile, does not peck, and tolerates being picked up and held. He has not started crowing yet.
