    cool thanks... yes they are a mixed bag of surprises!! lol I completely agree about the saddles.. they are flouncy, but not pointy. actually the darker one got super pissy with me today.. has always been sweet but kept trying to attack my hand it if it was anywhere near her. stood my ground...

    I think so too!! the feathers people keep saying are saddle feathers are really not that thin and pointy, compared with my roostersof the same age. Any thoughts on the jump and stomp behaviour?

I had Tobee on my lap looking at/inspecting feathers.. after I finished she sat for a minute then jumped down. as Tobee jumped down, Frida stood tall and jumped at Tobee high enough to "stomp"...

    they are not laying yet.. but I am adding a couple nest boxes this week in case some starts a bit early. thanks for the heads up, ill be ready in case that starts soon. Matilda, my abandoned neighborhood rescue lays, but she is not in with them.

    that's great!! ya mine haven't started laying yet.. though since they are 16 weeks, day after tomorrow ill be preparing a couple nest boxes this week with fake eggs in case I get an "early girl"
