I learned that there's a major difference between collecting chicken eggs and duck eggs. Chickens will lay in the same place.
Ducks? Seek and find! I am convinced they plan on who will lay where overnight. Then laugh while I go to every corner and pile of leaves knowing they will hear me say...

WOO-HOO 🙌 The girls are open for business! We've had our 4 khaki hens for 3 years and this was the first time everyone stopped production for almost 3 months.:barnieDid not expect this in central Florida. (In the meantime, our Pekin hen never stopped.) Incubator is keyed in and...
I used 3 thermometers and a hydrometer. All were calibrated. None have externally pipped. After much thought and my husband's input we decided not to float.
I will be candling later this evening and will post pictures. I've been thinking about making an air hole just in case, but I'll wait...
I'm more anxious and concerned than in a hurry. Thank you so much for responding. Is it possible that they are still ok even though they are not moving?
Really? What if there is no movement? I have 8 remaining out of 10 khaki campbell eggs. Two hatched over 24 hours ago. I candled them and 1 appears to still have red blood vessels but the others have dark vessels. Air sacks are saddled due to them being shipped eggs. I have them on their sides...
It takes a couple of days for them to get their legs under them. Wait until day 3. I leave them in the incubator for 2 days. (Most people leave them in for 3 days.) By then, they're fluffy and walking better.
Of the 2 that hatched, one was sticky. The yellow color. So, I suspect she was an older egg. She is also definitely NOT a khaki. Reached out to the seller and she's sending more eggs-no charge.
She believes the baby may be a Golden 300. So, of the 12 we ordered we received 18. After resting them...
Started incubating shipped khaki eggs 30 days ago. Two hatched yesterday. There are 8 left. First time incubating shipped eggs and poured over all the info I could find within this amazing forum. Followed instructions from letting them rest to marking the air pockets. Yep. Pretty serious saddled...
We lost one of our khaki campbell hens last summer to a flying predator just before sunrise. We searched for her and only found one feather. Recently, my husband went out in the evening to check on our flock and spotted an owl sitting on top of their pen!
:barnie:eek:
Everyone wasn't safe...
