She usually lays them overnight. Found one when I put them to bed at 7pm tonight though. 9/10 times I find them when I check on them first thing in the morning. And I'm positive its her as her egg is distinctive.
The others are all using the nesting boxes. I'm positive.

Wonderful!! Thanks for the advice! Luckily I still have some leftover from when I built the coop. I never thought about that considering how high up it is and how hard it would be for something to get it. But I guess if there's a will, there's a way!
This is SUPER helpful!! I was just so afraid that they'd get cold. Glad to see this image for reference as we haven't gotten below 0 in several years. I'll make sure to leave the coop as is then and give them less treats later in the day so they fill up on grass and feed. I consistently put...
Hi all! Like most of you, my mind is on getting ready to winterizing to coop. I'm in NJ and have already had some cool nights and have closed the windows and put some insulation between the cracks of the windows for warmth.
My question lies with the rafters... last year (and my first year with...
My 18 month Speckled Sussex has been laying from the roost for the past 2 months... lol! Some eggs are fine, most unsalvageable. Only a couple have made it into the nesting box. She never did this until about 2 months ago when she became head of the pecking order due to the head passing away...

I'm no expert, but looks like a pullet to me. Just raised 2 Blue Ameraucanas that are now 6 months old. The one pinked up before the other around that age but they are both pullets!
Hi all!
Just starting to raise my fourth flock now and was curious about spraddle leg. Never really experienced it. My 3 day old Blue Ameraucana named Lucy is walking, sometimes running, has a hop here or there, and is eating and drinking well. However, she seems to waddle when moving and her...
Just wanted to update everyone... She is doing so much better this morning. She is screaming and eating like a pig again, which are her 2 main personality traits! lol! Thank you everyone for all the assistance! We both thank you!
Thank you for all of the wonderful encouragement and tip-bits. That all makes sense. I will be watching her like a hawk for the next few days. WOW THOUGH! Lilith is one strong chicken! Now I know to look out for that from here on out!
After the runny poop came out, her vent was not spazzing like it was. Her nature is more "her" now, which makes me relived. She is eating a little bit again, but not to the degree of the other hens. Now that she is eating I will try calcium, but we're in the right direction. Thanks! She hasn't...
