Thanks! It was quite funny because I didn't expect them to be out of their eggs so when I started lifting her and a tiny head peeked out at me it was a heck of a surprise 😂
So I had a hen (her name is Spot) go broody and gave her 9 fertilized eggs from a friend. (We don't have a rooster so the eggs she was originally tying to hatch were not going to.
They are due to hatch Monday so I built a nesting area for her where she won't get attacked by anyone (she was...
The 2 of them were from my first ever hatch. He had a hard time getting out of the egg and I had to help him but since then he had been getting stronger. He had no weird poops and was acting normal. Him and Moana were going on regular "field trips" to the yard but came back in to our little area...
Today my poor little rooster died.
He was about 8 weeks old and was perfectly fine this morning. Was eating food, drank his water, and running around with Moana (the pullet who hatched at the same time as him).
An hour later I went out and found him on his back dead 😔
What could have happened...
Nope, same feed as always plus they get to run around the yard for a couple hours when I get home.
I just couldn't believe they all laid bonus eggs the same day 😂
Spot is my only girl to ever go broody (my girls will be turning 1 the first of June) shes my Blue Azure and she laid 1 egg today I can tell because her eggs are blue. My other 4 girls lay brown eggs so they are the ones who did the extra work today. And I don't know about any of them being...
So we have 5 beautiful chickens and we almost always get 5 eggs every day. Thry are such good layers and I'm so happy with them 😁
But today is one for my record book.
Today I got 8 eggs from my girls!
How the heck did that happen?!
I know it wasnt leftover eggs from yesterday because I checked...
Thanks, when I first got my chickens I had read several posts on here and it definitely helped answer some of my questions ☺️
Zoey says thanks too! Collies are such amazing dogs, I find they are super loving. She likes to sit and watch the chicks in the brooder lol
Hi!
