This is what was waiting for me in the coop today. Not only does it have a funny little ice cream swirl at the top, but it is very uneven in color. What the heck?!
Well, things got worse before they got better (runny green poo) but she is doing awesome now! Out with her friend all day, and back in the coop at night. It may have been a coincidence, but I gave her some meal worms which she gobbled up and he next day she was showing signs of hope!

Well, we decided not to treat for worms.
The lady at the feed store said that might be too stressful for her system if worms is not the culprit. She thinks maybe she is traumatized by the dog attack. I guess we'll just keep her quiet and comfortable for now. Her very pale comb really worries...
Husband's on the way home with dewormer now. I ope it's ok to administer without knowing it's worms for sure. Thanks for helping. BTW - She ate some when I got home
I have a sick 6 month old free range RI Red. No bird vet around (less than $100). I also have another hen, same age, seems fine.
A week ago, the neighbor dog got in and killed my two silkies. Red got to the coop, but was shaken up and losing some feathers. She seemed to get over it. But 4 days...

We are finishing up our coop and want to make sure it is secure enough against raccoons. Built it under our deck, so was able to use existing wall and screen enclosure Replaced screen with wire and wood. Concerned if the wire we put up is good enough. What do you think? I'm sorry, it looks like...
5 -6 months? Wow! I hope mine are younger, I would like for them to be able to free range with my other two standard hens.
They are cute, aren't they? So sweet. Haven't named them yet. Maybe Ebony & Ivory, maybe Salt & peppa... will wait to see their personalities.
Thanks for your help!!
Just got these cuties. The lady says they were born before Easter, but I don't know about that. They hardly move at all, eyes are dark, and only peep and, well, "pur". They are much too small to put with my 2 regular size hens
I am new to this sight, but will try to post a pic now. Here goes...
