    Combining Flock question

Hi fellow chicken people! I have a question regarding flocks sharing a run. Chicken math has gotten me too many times and it’s time to downsize. I currently have 2 separate flocks. I am rehoming half of my hens. I am looking to combine my flocks where they use the same run. I have two coops...

6 Week Old Chick Bobbing Head

Thank you! If it is neurological, is there anything I can do for it? Can a chicken with neurological issues live a full life? Thank you ♥️

6 Week Old Chick Bobbing Head

Hey, all. This morning I noticed one of my 6 week old Isbars bobbing/swaying its head back and forth. They get vitamins on a very regular basis and eat New Country organic starter. Any idea what is causing this? They seem to move around/eat/drink normally.

    Rumpless Araucana/Welsummer Cross

Howdy, all! Has anyone here crossed a Rumpless Araucana roo with a Welsummer hen? I am the very proud owner of Rumpless Araucana SR chicks and Welsummer pullets. I will be keeping one of the Rumpless Roosters so I can have blue eggers and olive egger chicks down the road. I would love to...

    Paradise Poultry- Legit?

Hey, all! I am looking to purchase some Shetland Hen chicks. It appears my only two options are Greenfire Farms (won’t ship until May) or Paradise Poultry in Hawaii with a march ship date. Has anyone had any experience with Paradise Poultry? I can’t find any reviews online. Thanks, peeps!!!

Do I have a surprise roo? 16 weeks old

That is so sweet of you! Thank you. My rooster is a BCM, and I feel very lucky to have gotten him! He’s so incredibly sweet. Not like the roosters that contributed greatly to my character development as a child 🤕 haha Thanks again!

Do I have a surprise roo? 16 weeks old

Hey all! I’m sorry it took me so long to reply! It turns out my Willa is indeed a Willa and not a Willard. She still has very large waddles and the largest comb of the bunch, but she has laid very regular olive eggs nearly daily! She is definitely the bully of the bunch 🙄 Willa crowed for...

    How old are these chicks?

Mine got pretty squirrelly around 4 weeks. And they ran away from me all the time after they went outside. However, once they got ready to lay eggs, they all became super friendly. I have a few that will hop up in my lap for loves now. It makes my heart so happy!

    How old are these chicks?

Yes, the second one is a barred rock. The brown chick is an olive egger and the grey one is an americauna. Jerrie, the barred rock, was slower to feather than the other chicks. She is my only BR so I’m not sure if that is breed or individual specific. She didn’t have any head feathers until 10...

Do I have a surprise roo? 16 weeks old

I thought I would come here to update with some wild news. I noticed that this chicken was growing spurs, I looked it up and found that it can be normal for hens to have spurs. She is an olive egger, as is only one other in my flock. Yesterday I found two olive eggs in the box, which solidified...

At what age did your chickens lay?

One of my black copper marans laid her first egg today! The first egg of the flock. 20 weeks and 1 day old. I was so happy I cried when I found this perfect little dark brown egg in the box! The white egg in the photo is fake.

Do I have a surprise roo? 16 weeks old

Hello! My chickens are just over 16 weeks old. The smallest chicken, an olive egger, has always had a more prominent comb than the others, but lately the difference has been on another level. Her comb is huge. Here are some photos, one her her by herself and one her standing next to a Black...

    Treats for Chicks

My chicks are 4 weeks old and I’ve been giving them some plain Greek yogurt as a treat. I have been smearing it on the bottom of a cereal bowl and placing it in the brooder. They were unsure at first but they love it now! And the probiotics are a good bonus 😊
