    Australorp rooster isn’t crowing

I was gifted an australorp rooster back in august. Last week put him around 17 weeks as well…he made his first “crow” then. I must say he’s still working out some kinks but he’s partially there! Im sure yours will come when you least expect it! I do admit it’s funny listening to him practice

    Molts

This is my first time with a backyard flock and two of my hens (8 months old) are towards the end of a molt. Is molting early more common than I think and/or have been reading? Out of my own curiosity have any fellow chicken tenders experienced a molt before the 18 month mark? I know there are...

    Chicken not acting herself

Seeing as she laid an egg yesterday it put me at ease a tiny bit, but don’t think she’s out of the woods yet. Thank you to all you guys that posted/replied- I’ll be keeping an eye out for everything we talked about!

    Chicken not acting herself

I checked and compared but I can’t tell. She’s not noticeable squishy or hard compared to my other girls. Today she laid an egg for the first time in over a week. She’s still acting off though! Would the water belly be super squishy?

    Chicken not acting herself

So I’ve checked and compared. She’s larger than my other hens but she not noticeably squishy or hard compared to them. Today she also laid an egg…now I’m not sure what to think because she’s still acting goofy.

    Chicken not acting herself

I’m going to poke around and feel her belly again today because last night in my searching I came across this too but I didn’t think it seemed full or squishy but I could be wrong. She does have a full bottom rump but she’s always been my big girl! I don’t exactly know what I’m feeling for...

    Chicken not acting herself

About a week ago. She’s second from the bottom. I only have 5 birds together and multiple feeders and waters. I thought maybe she was getting bullied too but I watch them quite often on my chicken camera and no one guards food/water from anyone. What does a hard or squishy abdomen usually mean...

    Chicken not acting herself

Other than not pooping a lot, it’s perfectly normal when she does. I even tried searching for worms in her poop…..not a proud moment 😂

    Chicken not acting herself

I thought too young for molting too. Would I be able to feel that? Her crop used to fill so nicely and by morning all pooped out but now it’s never full

    Chicken not acting herself

Hi all! Super new to this Website and have found such useful information. Unfortunately my time has come and now I’m a worry wart. I need your help! I noticed a week ago my 6 month old chicken hasn’t been acting her normal self. She stopped laying and she would usually lay religiously. She...
