I should have got rid of it while I could. I came out to feed the quails today and saw this. I knew it was the bully because she had blood on her beak and around her eyes. I'm very sad :(
I'm not able to get a picture now but from my own research I can tell that I have mainly females.
The female mounted the male that I pictured above today.. I separated her 2 times already and she's still very aggressive with the other quail, except for this one. It seems like the male quail is...
I have 6 quails. 3 nesting boxes in the nesting area.. as far as I can tell I have 2 males. A speckled Italian and then that one. The grey one has a pattern all the way down her belly.
I have one quail who is bullying others all of the sudden. She bullies all but one quail. I can't tell if this is a female quail or not. The grey colored quail is the bully. The one by her is the only one she doesn't bully.
Yes, medicated feed. Also have them on vitamin e and apple cider vinegar with honey. I've had 4 die out of 17. Found one dead this morning, now I'm on edge. I've had 2 develop wry neck, one has recovered...the other one doesn't look good but hasn't died yet.
My quails are about 3 weeks old. I do agree that they can look rough but the beak is worrying me. None of the other quails have this going on. It also just pooped something red and stringy.
