"That weird looking dog was on your roof again last night. Don't worry though - I took care of him; he won't be bugging you any more"

Perhaps these are also year-round residents and we just haven't noticed or seen them previous winters. We'll be sure to bring in the feeders at night and keep them fat and fed in case they stick around through the season.

We were surprised to see the hummingbirds still here and active, so we'll keep the feeders out for a few more days and bring them in at night to prevent freezing (again). I thought they'd have migrated south by now.

First snow stick of the season here in NE Olympia. A couple of our Rooster boys had their first taste of the fluffy white stuff! The Silkie boy was actually quite adventurous and didn't hate it as much as our other Chickies. ...and we have some sweet Anna's Hummingbirds that were cold and...

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Thank you @pennyJo1960 - we may have to check that out. There's a neighbor down the road that runs a sort of small sanctuary for roosters, and he goes to the auction frequently; we might take him over there if we can't find a home for him. I'd love to find him a good home with a flock and...

We are hoping to re-home this Ayam Cemani rooster. We are located in Olympia, WA. He is about 6 months old and is a very sweet and intelligent rooster. VERY virile and needs a good flock to attend to. Unfortunately, he doesn't get along with our 3 year old Silkie roo and they are fighting for...

Re-Home/Adopt (Olympia, WA) - Ayam Cemani Rooster

We need to re-home this boy (Twinkle Star). We are located in Olympia, WA. He is about 6 months old and is a very sweet and intelligent rooster. VERY virile and needs a good flock to attend to. Unfortunately, he doesn't get along with our 3 year old Silkie roo and they are fighting for the top...

Thank you, @avidity! We hope so, too!

    Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I appreciate the invite - these boys are still young (16 weeks) and don't have much meat on them yet. Kind of a worst-case scenario, but we have friends that will gladly turn them into soup. We're hoping to find them a good flock they can tend to, which is proving to be more difficult than...

I figured I would post this here as well. We're trying to re-home (2) Polish Roos....haven't had much luck locally (in Thurston County): https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/polish-rooster-s-in-need-of-a-great-home-wa-state.1490737/

Polish Rooster(s) in need of a great home (WA State)

We considered it, but concerned the roosters would beat each other up too much and become more aggressive if left together. We've contacted everyone we could (locally) and have not found anyone willing to take them in as "working roosters". We may drop them off at a local farm who will take...

Polish Rooster(s) in need of a great home (WA State)

Here's a couple pictures of our big Silkie boy, Chocolate (he is not up for adoption): Also, just FYI - all the chicken names were picked-out by Sandy's preschool class kiddos, and voted on by the kids to keep it democratic. Hence, the many unique and food-related names that have been applied...

Polish Rooster(s) in need of a great home (WA State)

He definitely earned the (new) moniker. He is tall and lanky, pure white, very vocal (he loves "singing" all day long) and has quite a bit of arrogance/swagger to boot! This last batch of (11) chicks we picked-up, we ended up with 4 roosters once they matured and started crowing. Our...
