I have left it in the shell and it just seems to be laying there, maybe absorbing the yolk? Hopefully this one was ready to hatch! I didn’t pick at the membrane and the chick pushed it’s way out right away. It is hard to know what to do. I guess at this point we will just have to wait and hope...
Update! I followed all the suggestions. Removed the egg from the incubator. Removed the shell around in a circle (didn’t see any veins). I didn't remove/touch the membrane. I wetted the membrane as I went. It didn’t look particularly dry but I think the shell was hard. Even before I had the...
