The BR is a favorite. Very friendly. When I come outside I say “chickie babies” and all their heads pop up and look for me. The BR is the first to approach and will eat out of my hand too!
Yeah I have 2.5 acres, but my dogs wouldn’t be kind to them. Also we have Eagles and Hawks. I’m trying my best to keep them safe. They seem happy. I change up the interior of run every couple weeks to give them something new to investigate. I will probably rehome the Wyandotte as it’s already...
So then I have 2 roosters and 7 hens. Is that ratio ok, or should I look at giving one of the roos away? The barred rock would have to stay since he is my husbands favorite. However, I guess its name will go from Agnes to Arnold! :D Right now they all seem to do well together except for the...
This is the Wyandotte thought maybe to be rooster…17 weeks now, no crowing, no Spurs, but will “bow up” at barred rock who I’m not sure if pullet either…thoughts?!?

No, unfortunately, I’m guessing they won’t care. No worries, I wasn’t calling you out on your %... just telling you what happened. It’s just my luck! 🥴
So, as many posts I have read, these were all bought as pullets. I have 2 of each, speckled Sussex, Colombian Wyandotte, Plymouth barred rock and gold star. I’m pretty certain one of speckled Sussex is a roo. I’m concerned about one of the Wyandotte and barred rock. I’m new to chickens and these...
Hello, I’m new to chickens. We live on a small farm in Lithia, FL. We have horses, pigs, dogs, a donkey, a cat and 8 new chickies! Loving watching them grow and I love learning new things! I’m just learning I think I have 3 Roos in my 8 “pullets” I was sold, so figuring out what to do now...
