    My baby boy crowed today!

    My BR rooster "chick" was trying his best to crow this morning. It was the cutest and saddest noise all at the same time sounded like someone squeezing a duck! I can't believe he's only 6 weeks and already all grown up. His pullet friend had the funniest look on her face.

    I have went back through thread after thread and looked at every picture I could find of barred rock chicks and I can't make any sense of things. Started out extra dark with dark legs. Comb hasn't really grown, but has got some color. 4 weeks old now...is this a barred rock? Is this a pullet or...

    Darnit! That's what I was afraid of, he's a sweet fella but he's noisy. I picked gertie and his sister out at chick day at the farm store out of a bin labeled pullets guess one snuck by them. I guess Flirty Gertie is gonna be a Gary now.
