    Need to ID Potential Predator

Hoping someone can give me some insight into what did this to my chicken run. I was gone for two nights and came home to one of my eight hens wandering the yard. Expecting the worst, I ran to the coop. The other seven hens were in coop. Everyone was fine. There was a nesting box full of eggs and...

Which incubator is best for hatching quail eggs?

We hatched our very first quail yesterday using a HHD New Technology incubator that my husband bought on Amazon for $60. Ten of the 24 hatched. We didn't candle them, so I don't know how many were actually fertile.

    Hatching eggs QUICKLY with QUAIL

I agree with @cherrynberry. My 12yo begged for quail, so we got 14 from the local feed store in April. Yesterday we hatched our very first batch. Ten of the 24 hatched, and 9 survived. For our first time, we are thrilled with nine new babies! Now, here's hoping they are all females!

Calling Orloff owners, pullet or cockerel?!

My Marans are 5 weeks old. Their combs look as large and red as the Marans' in Avettfan's pic. Think they might be roos?

    Russian Orloffs

My Orloffs are 6.5 weeks old. I'm new to this breed and fairly new to chicken raising in general. How would you even begin to determine this chick's sex?

How do you know the Marans is a male? I have one that looks just like this. Thanks!
