    Ok so I just tried again and I managed to squeeze out some more gunk from the sore. I also squeezed the upper swollen side and what looked like blood streaked clear mucus came out through her nostril.

    Thank you I appreciate your insight. So a slight change in things… The sore is almost completely healed up. There is still swelling on the top side of her face but the lower half has lessoned. The last photo attached was before I cleaned it a few days ago. Poor thing is not used to being so...

    Thank you so much this is incredibly helpful. We have some wild doves in the area and the smaller ones can get into the run (I am having a new one made with smaller wire). Can I return her to the coop once I start the medication? Or must I wait until she has recovered? thanks again!

    Note that I can pick up without putting my nose right up to it. The gunk I drained off smelled awful.
