Thanks so much for your support and help. If she got a hold of something bad I would think that her siblings would have too, they move around in a group. Not laying eggs yet and I haven’t seen our one drake mating with them yet. Thanks so much
My mallard hen is doing better but she still can not walk. It’s like her legs won’t hold her up. Eating and drinking is ok. She just sort of scoots around.
No swelling or heat in her legs, her tail is down, she is a mallard hen. No bowing and when she does stand her feet are pointed forward.
Her poop is very runny and a dark brown. Her wings are all the time droopy with her constantly bringing them up..
This morning she now has what sounds like...
I have 6 ducklings that are 4 months old and one of them is having trouble walking and staying up with the others. She is sitting a lot and has trouble keeping her wings up. She is constantly trying to pick them up. They were given brewers yeast from hatching.
Right now she is in the “hospital”...
I have lost a couple of chickens to what ever is causing the white butt, lethargic, doesn’t groom, eats a little. I have tried everything in my first aid kit and I am still losing my chickens. See photos. Any advice?
Ok, I have another problem with my ducks. They won’t go into their duck house! I can’t get them off the water. The house is not right on the water but maybe 300 yards away. We have predators and I have lost ducks before. Please send suggestions 😳. Thanks
Morning, I candled Elsa’s eggs yesterday and all 6 of them have a little duckling growing! I did notice that her eggs are a little behind the eggs that I have in the incubator. So d I add mine to her nest? Maybe one at a time?
Hello everyone. I finally had some questions that I couldn’t find answers to so I decided to join the talk. And I love it. I have received so much help and advice concerning my ducks that I already have a solution. Thanks for accepting me and I look forward to talking with everyone. ❤️
She laid 11 eggs, I took 6 for the incubator because I wanted to hatch at least some from her this time since none hatched last time. I put those 6 in Jul 27th, and Elsa started sitting august 1st. What do you think?
She started on August 1st. Stays on the eggs all day and night, only leaves for 5-10 minutes. I would love to candle her eggs when she leaves the nest, I just have to be ready to do it.
Sorry, trying to find your first post so that I can look again. But I believe that the egg that is clearer than the others did even start. Does that help?
I would go out on a limb and say that the eggs are no good. I didn’t see any veins and though it did look like an embryo had started in at least two of the eggs they don’t look like they are growing any longer.
