I did some research and found several people talking about using deer fencing over the 1/4 hardware cloth. Apparently snakes can’t climb it and if they try they get tangled up in it. So now I’ve begun to do the same thing around both my coops and runs. I also have 1/4 hardware on the floors.

I have 2 silkie roosters…. Actually 3 since one of my two silkie hens have turned out to be a rooster. I also got two Ameraucana hens and again one is a rooster. So now I have four roosters and six hens. nit sure what I’m gonna do since the three silkie roosters are very loving.

Thank you!! I did catch my silkie rooster pulling at her comb. So this must be from that. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t Fowl pox. I’m only into my 4 month of having my backyard flock. Just learning as much as I can.
