can anyone determine the gender of this chicken please (will post photos below) she/he is almost 6 months old and has crowed just the once about a week ago although I don’t know if that was her mimicking one of my other girls that has started crowing due to me bringing more hens into the flock...

It is in fact a dominance thing and to do with the pecking order since I have recently added more hens to the flock and it’s a problem because I live in a built up area and people will complain.

I can only fit the tip of my little finger through the gaps

The original chicken was a rescue and she’s grown up with them from when they were all chicks (5 months ago). What we think is to be a cockerel has been in there for about a month now and has shown no signs of aggression towards the quails here is a picture of the button quails next to the wire
