    I have sick ducks

She's still alive, in quarantine, but I don't see much of any improvement except for catching her eating for once but hardly anything at all, most of the time she just stands or sits there, shivering and her feet feel quite cold, she still preens herself as well. Still occasionally has...

    I have sick ducks

She never behaved in a drunken manner before this. I am a little confused about the post above as well myself, but I've never heard of these medicines before. I only have tractor supply in my area and to get other things I have to go to the city which is often a 3 hour drive for something very...

    I have sick ducks

Thank you very much for this. My other duck seems to be far better but the one I've had in quarantine. She started having really severe seizures and flopping all over the place and which was very scary! She appeared to be very woozy and then continued to have seizures which lasted several...

    I have sick ducks

I only fed peas and zucchini scraps, fresh from the garden and washed. And they mostly ignore the scraps and only eat the feed. And I'll see about the video. She's seemingly okay but refusing to eat or drink anything.

    I have sick ducks

I have and she still refuses. I've resorted to feeding her by syringe, (following instructions on how a bird should be syringe fed) since she's been refusing everything given to her. Even gave her quite some time, alone time, sat with her as well. Still the refusal. And thank you, they're...

    I have sick ducks

Does botulism cause ducks to twitch as well and heavy panting along with flipping onto backs? There wasn't limp body however when I picked her up, was able to hold her head up despite this having happened.

    I have sick ducks

I have 9 ducks in altogether, all around the same age. Today they seem to be better which I am thankful for but thank you, I'll definitely look in Walmart for this! And the directions, thank you very much for this. She really wants to be with the other ducks but she has to be separated until I...

    I have sick ducks

Sweet no so here I go... So. My poor babies are sick. Two of them at least! I've tried my best to figure out what could be possibly the issue, how they got sick and what they're sick with. One is more severely ill and I am scared for her most. But I still am very concerned about the other one...

duck has feathers on the leg?!!

My ducklings happen to have leg feathers! It's so crazy to me to think that this is something that exists in ducks. Mine are welsh harlequins and are just only a month old. So it's really cool to see that I'm not the only one with this very interesting oddity.

My Ducklings Have Feathers on Their Legs!?

I most certainly did! Which has me very excited to see how they turn out when they get older. I really want to have more of this feather trait. I really thought this was something only seen in chickens and pigeons, doves other birds etc... I have several chickens, some purebred light brahmas and...

My Ducklings Have Feathers on Their Legs!?

Ah, I was considering Metzer but I chose McMurray first. I might be doing Metzer next year for other breeds or to get a welsh drake as well. Feathers was the least expected thing to have been suspected amongst these breeds I've been looking into!

My Ducklings Have Feathers on Their Legs!?

Yes, that last photo with the foot is definitely what I am seeing in all my other ducks. When I received these babies, I was just wow, my first ducks ever are here. Nothing out of the ordinary was seen in them. It's only when they got to be around a month old was when I noticed this popping up...

My Ducklings Have Feathers on Their Legs!?

Ah, yours didn't have any at all present? Even if they didn't, I find all the welsh very cute and pretty.

My Ducklings Have Feathers on Their Legs!?

OH that's interesting, thank you for showing this thread. Very much appreciated, so I'm not the only one with this oddity. o3o I see it is definitely a different breed so, maybe it is something that pops up in ducks on the occasion? I don't know but thank you.

My Ducklings Have Feathers on Their Legs!?

Ah well, I hope so too as I am really curious about these things. For some years I have been wanting ducks, I didn't want just any duck but very specific breeds. Turns out my ducks are more interesting than I was thinking.

My Ducklings Have Feathers on Their Legs!?

Ay, then I did good with the pics. But yes, I surely am very observant. I'm always on the lookout for things even if small details, can tell a whole lot. The fact that about half of my ducklings have leg feathers is just so interesting and shocking. I'm definitely looking forward to how much of...

My Ducklings Have Feathers on Their Legs!?

Sorry these aren't the best photos but I had to do this when it was dark out! Otherwise they will never sit still enough for me to take any photos of them. I tried my best to show what feathers they have on their legs, well barely noticeable as said, but they are more like, pin feathers, white...

My Ducklings Have Feathers on Their Legs!?

Hey so, I am new to keeping ducks but not to chickens as I've had those before ducks. Currently has 9 ducklings, just about a month old by now. Previously had 10, casaulty to disease. Two different breeds, 4 silver appleyards and 5 welsh harlequins. Used to have 5 silver appleyards. They are all...
