    Help with ill hen

There was never a scab there and we could not see where she stepped on feel anything. We did Epsom for a few days but it never got better. I will try 2 times a day for a week or so I suppose. Are there any meds we can give her for it? Prefer a shot vs pills. That's not fun trying to get a...

    Help with ill hen

Unfortunately, her foot is swelling up. It doesn't look like the typical bumble we have had in the past. Ideas?

    Help with ill hen

So a month later, the wet feather is looking a LOT better. The nasty wing feathers are gone and new growth is coming in. The foot on the other hand is not getting better. Going to perform "surgery" on the foot Tuesday and see if we find anything. Wish us luck!

    Help with ill hen

Yep, did that too. Poor girl is a mess! Hoping the mites are what are causing the wetfeather and we can get that cleared up. She definitely is not waterproof now.. She may be getting another Dawn bath this week and go from there.

    Help with ill hen

About the same. We have been giving her the antibiotics, but she is still limping. My daughter noticed mites on her when bathing her, so she is doing a 5 day cycle of the Pure Planet Poultry spray. Hopefully once she gets that under control, the wetfeather will get better. At least she seems...

    Help with ill hen

We usually feed them about 2 times a day when they come home, but they love to hang out and forage at the lake and roam around. The other 3 ducks seem to be very healthy and look great. She just has a hard time :(

    Help with ill hen

They eat the Purina Layerna+ Omega 3 poultry feed when we feed them, but they spend a lot of time foraging as well. If we need to add something to the food or switch, I am 100% open to that. As far as the antibiotics, the vet had prescribed amox-clav for it and it seemed to clear up the...

    Help with ill hen

abx is just short for antibiotics. My daughter gave her a good bath a few minutes ago and dried her off and she is in the coop for a few days and hopefully the wetfeather will clear up. We will start back on the antiobiotics as well. Hopefully it clears up!

    Help with ill hen

Thanks for the quick response. She is not a jumbo that I know of. She was abandoned in a parking lot as a chick and we rescued her. We do have 2 jumbos and they are much larger and healthy (so far). They are "free range" and we live on a 5 acre lake and have a koi pond she swims in very...

    Help with ill hen

I have searched the forums and can't find much on this, but I have a 1.5 year old female pekin that just seems to keep having health issues. We have a total of 3 females and 1 drake. She acts fine (aside from a limp), still lays eggs and the other 3 are fine. Attached is a picture of her wing...
