I went through my first poultry hatch (shipped eggs). I got 50% hatched and I had tossed a few out when checking development so I could have had a 50%+ hatch rate which I hear is pretty much the median when dealing with shipped eggs. I weeded out some of the weaker birds (fed them to other...
Maybe I'm reading things wrong, but it seems like some breeds sell cheaper as hatched out chicks vs hatching eggs. I've been looking at barred rocks for example.
I'm curious as to the economics of this? Why would a hatching egg be as expensive or more expensive than an egg that is incubated and...
Up to 6 completely out and another zipped. I had 21 eggs that I kept out of an original 30 that were shipped. One was cracked, a few were either bad or infertile, and I had sacrificed 3 during the process just to see what was going on and to double check what I thought I was seeing while...

I imagine getting them out is just the beginning...
I'm a new member in Arkansas. I'm currently incubating some "A&M" Coturnix eggs as a test run. My plan is to find some pied pearl guinea eggs and hatch them this year.
Just wanted to say hello!
