I get compostable bags for my kitchen food scraps, and I throw any and all vegetable or occasionally cheese or bread scraps into it. I also put smashed egg shells into it. When the bag is full, I just dump the whole thing, bag and all, into the chicken shed. The chickens go mad with excitement...
I'm also wondering about this. I live near neighbors, so a quiet rooster would be great. My friend says that her Bielefelder roosters have only crowed in the morning and not throughout the day. Is this anyone else's experience?
