Can I ask what the outcome has been for your chick did she improve with vitamins? how is she doing now? I have a similar issue with a 6-week-old serama, I'm praying that it's not Mereck's.
Update I did switch incubators and all eggs are doing fine. I do have some concerns 1 or 2 of the serama eggs have a lot more fluid and are not growing as fast as the others. Some almost have no room to move.
What should I do? Should I be concerned?
My thoughts exactly. It has more temp drops than anything also the incubator has cold spots and hit spots in it. I had 5 thermometers in it placed in different areas and all said something different but take them out and they are all reading the same temp.
Thank you!
So back story I've had dozens of successful batches with about a 98% hatch rate average. But I haven't hatched in about a year and decided to buy serama eggs on a whim because ya know, chicken math 🤷♀️
Well my incubator has been setting for that year and I had it set up and ready when I...
I absolutely love my OEGB they are so far my favorite breeds hands down the best personality. I have a tiny Silver Fawn roo named Jacque. He was our pleasant surprise I had my blue OEGB hen and my silver duck wing in a pen and she went broody and hatched these guys. His coloring is gorgeous...
I haven't incubated in about a year, and my incubator has been sitting. I'd say I'm pretty good at at , I have a great hatch rate. But like I said its been a year. So here I go like a true sociopath buying a dozen serama eggs for $75. Cz ya know, why not 🤷♀️🙄
I'm use to tiny eggs and early...
I have a 3-year-old buff orpington who just literally developed symptoms she was eating just fine and playing with her sisters right before I noticed this then when she was done eating she was in the coop on the roost and I heard her wheezing she was not doing that previously this is all onset...
That's my initial thought i hatch cochin bantams and other than the color they look identical. But when i google lensed it, it also brought up porcelain d'uccle and lavender ameraucana bantams but im still saying blue cochin bantam
Our local feed store advertised they had silkes in, and of course i needed to add a couple more silkies to my already existing flock of 60+
I have a wide assortment of birds ranging from bantys to large fowl. I already have a few silkies but wanted more, ya know, cz chicken math. 🙄
I wasn't...
Oh my goodness you are right! Like the one in the old 60s Christmas cartoons! I love it. You just officially named this little beast. Thank you. It's name is Yeti ❤️
Waking up this morning was like waking up on Christmas morning! Y'all except look what the incubator fairy brought me!! This is Dennis Rodman. (Or Denise if he's a she) I do not have any black skin silkies or anything black skinned for that matter other than my fibro olive eggers that are 4...
So far day 20 and we have 21 hatched. This is madness I wasn't expecting them to hatch so early. The others have all pipped all but a few so they have plenty of time. I have a mix of standard and bantams but y'all I swear these are the tiniest chicks I've ever had. For reference that bottle...
Day 19 gave us 10 in total. 😳 All bantys, 9 of which were blue eggs. I have a couple dozen that are starting to pip. The humidity has me nervous. The more that hatch the higher it goes but then the more they fluff, it plummets in. Literally an incubator roller coaster right now. I really need...
It's a Chinese incubator that goes by MANY names lol. Mine does not have the built in candler but here's a few like mine. I love that the lid is 100% see through but it does lose heat through the sides. But other than that it's been a great incubator. The egg turner is great, it has an...
We have baby #1 he's so TINY! 10 More pipping since this morning. It's only day 19! It hatched from a blue egg, so he's a bantam easter egger Y'all this one has a Clark Gable mustache! Lol the black on his beak almost has a porn stache vibe to it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Holy crap batman! It's day 18... LOCKDOWN DAY. so I'm doing my final candle as I switch them over to the hatching incubator and I got to my 3rd egg out of 53... And YALL!!! It's internally pipped. 😳 So urgent mode kicks in and we switch ALL 53 over. Needless to say I didn't candle anymore...
Ok Day 13 candling and I'm one egg down. We now have 53 out of 55 eggs left. The remaining 53 look PERFECT & Healthy, But I have a strange egg that is not giving me good vibes and I'm worried I may lose it. I've never had or seen an egg like this. Maybe y'all can help me. I took this video...
So it's day 11 and after candling, all 54 are developing GREAT! Air cell growth is perfect and babies are bouncing around, even my marans. I hope they all make it to the finish line. I simply LOVE dry hatching (so far). So far I'm doing so much better than my last hatch.
