I’d love to know what you did with this hen?
Same situation with my white fluffy hen under her wing.
She molted at the beginning of summer and then I noticed it shortly after the new feathers came in and believe me, it is just as revolting.
From the looks of it, I expected she would be in great...
She lives on!❤️ She did stay inside for about five days but then went into the chicken yard with the rest of the birds she still looks a little raggedy but other than that she is fine!
Very sorry … same thing happening to my buff Orpington . A fox roughed her up and then ran off with one of our silkies. I’m gonna go out and try giving fluid with syringe . Almost 24 hours for our bird since the attack. She just looks very scared and has a couple bites on her back .
Look …a. Fox (quite beautiful)-got one of our hens too -(a silkie)-and though I wasn’t happy about it -(and I have a wounded buff Orpington hen who is recovering as yours did )-I can understand that winters are long in Pennsylvania, and a fox needs to eat too.
