3 year old Wyandotte has runny green poop

Hi there, Thank you for all your help earlier. She seemed to be getting better and was really interested in eating and still does eat and drink, but she seems to have water belly. Her abdomen is stretched like a balloon and has been having more trouble walking now. I have been doing a lot of...

3 year old Wyandotte has runny green poop

@ Eggcessive The medication finally came in the mail today. She has been eating a little bit each day, but hasn't made much improvement. I ordered the Enrofloxacin. Would you recommend adding that to her water and keeping her in a separate area for the week time that she needs the medication...

3 year old Wyandotte has runny green poop

Thank you for your help, I think you’re right about it not being vent gleet, I’ve never seen it before so I wasn’t sure. I read that it can smell really bad and I haven’t noticed that either. I ordered the antibiotics you had recommended the other day and they should be here in a few days. If it...

3 year old Wyandotte has runny green poop

I did check her crop this morning before she ate and it felt empty, nothing hard. I’ll check her belly between her legs. She’s very hard to catch! The other hens are friendly but not her lol.

3 year old Wyandotte has runny green poop

Here are some pictures of her butt, poop and the side of her. I haven’t really seen her eat any chicken food, but she is taking well to the scrambled egg and some meal worms. Hopefully these pictures help with some sort of diagnosis.

3 year old Wyandotte has runny green poop

I was wondering about that I was doing some googling and saw the antibiotics for fish can be used for chickens. I’ll order some today in case I can’t find any in town.

3 year old Wyandotte has runny green poop

I will see if I can get a good picture of her droppings today. I’m leaning towards a reproductive issue since she hasn’t laid an egg since last summer. I will look into the antibiotics, I’ll be going to town today and can get some. Thank you for your help, will keep you all posted!

3 year old Wyandotte has runny green poop

Her diet is layer crumbles as that is what the other hens are eating. They have occasional treats of cabbage, berries and free range periodically and will feed on bits of fresh grass. They also get dried meal worms as a treat, but that would only be about 10 worms per chicken. I will try...

3 year old Wyandotte has runny green poop

Hi there, so one of my hens who is the top of the pecking order hasn’t been feeling her best the last few days. I noticed her bum was getting diarrhea stuck to it and have been closely watching her droppings where she has been sleeping at night and I’ve also seen her poop while I’ve been out...

My coop set up and what am I doing wrong?

I agree it’s been really helpful reading everyone’s posts! There is so much knowledge here! It sounds like I need to do some research and get our rooster on some different food. Thank you for sharing your advice. I’m assuming once I switch over I should do it slowly by adding new food to the...

My coop set up and what am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your thoughtful post. That’s a good idea to add ice. Have you ever tried the misters? They seem to love those when it gets over 90 degrees. I agree chickens are so much fun!

My coop set up and what am I doing wrong?

That is an excellent way to put it about the Gatorade, I actually don’t like it myself haha. I do provide both fresh and occasionally the probiotic water. I actually built the chicken coop from scratch after a bunch of research online. There are 4 windows that open on each side of the coop and...

My coop set up and what am I doing wrong?

Thanks for all your thoughtful answers and questions! I’ve read the apple cider vinegar can be very helpful, I like your idea of providing it once a month or so. I’m feeding layer feed that doesn’t have any added calcium, so I thought it was ok for the rooster, but perhaps I need to relook at...

My coop set up and what am I doing wrong?

Your exactly right, birds do come and go. I just have trouble saying goodbye to animals. I’ve always been that way, but I’m trying to be more accepting and just offer the best care I can and enjoy them while we have them. Your right the crossbeaks are very hard to care for. I was only able to...

My coop set up and what am I doing wrong?

Hi group! I am pretty new to keeping chickens, I got my first flock 2 years ago but have been researching and dreaming of chickens for many years before that. When we finally moved to a place where we could have them I got right to work building my coop. I’ve loved having my hens they have...
