    I feel for you. we HAD a black bear do the same, except he ripped out a hunk of side wall in my barn. As in, 4 feet of my 34x36 barn (not some little coop). he was after chicken.....no doubt about it. We tried electric, we tried lights, we tried noise (I think the bear liked loud rock n roll!)...

    Did you actually go to NHNANNA and talk to her about this? Instead of taking it to a public forum? I have bought chicks from her in the past, and have never known her to be anything but reputable. If this did happen to you, then obviously it was a mistake.

    I have showgirls, and I NEVER get tired of looking at these pictures. That little guy is so cute. And, it is hard to tell, I wouldn't bet on either sex for another few months.

    little chipmunks are partridge. With his (well, and the hens too) coloring, expect bleeding in the colors, especially around the hackles area. So cute! :)

    Help! Dog attack broke my favorite hen's leg!

    Do you have a vet you could call? That happened to a serama roo I had, from a dog attack. I ddint want to splint it the wrong way, called the vet and they did it for me. yeah, so I had to pay$ but he was worth it.

    girls tuck their heads, the roos do not. thats why they are the only ones. And except for the vaseline, there really is nothing you can do (oter than heat or insulate). unless you are showing them, then it wont matter if they lose their points. come springtime, you wont even notice.

    Collecting them. ANd yep, they ARE fertilized. She is in with another pullet (not laying yet) and and the tiniest silkied cockerel. Oh my Lord are they cute. Every one of the eggs I checked, had a little bullseye. I guess I should have put them in the bator. I didnt, as I dont want housechickens...
