I have 12 ducks, some are a year old and others are about 9 months old. I usually give them straight duck feed that is $30 for a bag but it’s hard to find now at my local farm store so I have been giving all flock pellets and add brewers yeast to their feed several times a week. When I do find...
Thank you all. I’m attached to the three drakes I’ve had since may but I’m going to keep my saxony in hopes of getting a saxony female one day. And my mallard since he is small. I will keep them separated for a little while longer and also I’m going to try to get 3-4 more females and monitor.
I’m thinking about keeping one or two of the drakes. If I keep two then I plan on getting at least 3 more females to have 10 females. I will still have to keep him separated from 5 of the females until they are another month or so older but I guess I could put the two females and him together...
I have a quick question I have had 4 of my ducks since may but 3 are male and 1 female. I have 13 all together and discovered I have 6 males in total and 7 females. I have had to keep the older drakes separate from the females for several months now when locked up. Tomorrow I am selling all of...
Update: she’s still here. I gave her some molasses water flush this morning and she drank quite a bit of it. She took a bite of food (duck pellet that’s been soaked in water). Her poop is solid white with bright green in it. I start nursing school today so I won’t be able to check on her again...

I’m wondering if it’s wry neck from what I’m reading. I don’t have any vitamin E but do have vitamin b complex for animals in iv form. Should I try that?
I think she is dying. She won’t hold her head up at all and now won’t open her eyes. She keeps getting burst where she will flinch and try to stand but won’t open her eyes. Breathing is shallow. I don’t think she’ll make it through the night. All the other ducks are fine so I’m not sure what’s...
I have around a 13 week old khaki Campbell. I noticed she is stumbling and running into things. But she still can see and nothing wrong with her feet. She is super calm when I hold her. She has drainage from nostrils, doesn’t care anything about swimming but still tries to groom her feather...
@Miss Lydia @CoriM sweeter heater? I’ll have to look these up! Also, I have 3 drakes separated from my hens but thought about integrating them all for more warmth… should I or just keep separated? 3 drakes that were hatched in may, 2 hens hatched in may, and 8 hens that around 10 weeks old but...
It’s now going to be -1F with colder windshield for Thurs. they have deep bedding of straw. I’d say it’s every bit of 6 inches if not more. And I added a full straw bale for them to get on if needed. Their entire 10x10 is deep bedding. Although I have it separated with drakes on one side and...
Also to add, their coop house will have fresh straw in it at all times. It’s up higher so we are also going to enclose the bottom too making it two stories.
I have a 10x10 with an full sided insulated wood coop house for my ducks. I have been adding straw to the floor (on concrete) since fall so it’s pretty deep. It gets so wet and nasty that I’m wanting to get rid of all the straw and get those rubber mats with the drainage holes like those used in...
Update as of tonight… she still has the bumble. The other foot is almost healed but the one bumble that was advanced I took a pic of above a few weeks ago is bigger now. I tried debrieding the scab and no pus or Kernal is coming out. It’s just bleeding. She’s on day 5 out of 7 of baytril… epsom...
