Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

Oh hehe 😅 I got super busy and we kinda figured out how to handle all these dramatic chickens. We also found a nestling pigeon that had been booted from its nest over the summer and we have a pigeon now too. I think I'm her mate idk

Roo squeaking - something might still be stuck in crop?

Well it's off and on and been like that since early summer. We cut a string out of his mouth then but we arent sure if whatever it was attached to is still there.

Roo squeaking - something might still be stuck in crop?

Seems like there's -something- in there but his crop is pretty normal. If anything it feels more empty. But his poops are good.

Roo squeaking - something might still be stuck in crop?

He will start squeaking like this when eating or crowing. I looked in his mouth and cant see anything immediate, but he seems to be wheezing and squeaking more and more. Is there any way to triage this without going to a vet? We can't really afford an emergency vet right now :(

Roo Tongue Issue - is it torn?

So our black jersey giant has been yelping here and there and we'd see something sticking out of his beak. I cut it out after a couple weeks once we realised it was actually stuck on his tongue. I thought i had taken a pic but it seems I did not. It was like some dark fibrous thing like a twig...

She did start losing her to spot in the pecking order recently and seems really depressed about it. Hiding away and stuff.

My Hen's Feet Have Gotten Worse. Any ideas?

OH NO! I was keeping baking soda in their poo tray in their inside the house coop! I read through the gout section and it said "too much baking soda". Could I have exasperated some symptoms by doing that?

My Hen's Feet Have Gotten Worse. Any ideas?

She eats layer feed/starter feed and snacks of cheese, egg, oats, basil, watermelon, grapes, other stuff along those lines that are in the 'allowed to eat' lists. And in moderation ofc. She is cooped. We have a backyard coop but has spent most of her time inside with us due to her feet being a...

He's still extra sweet and snuggly but yeah, now that he's crowing we have no idea what's going to happen. It looks like we have to give him up.

How To Handle Getting Rooster Instead Of Hen In City (Portland, OR)

Hey gang, so heartbreakingly enough, thanks to these forums, we found out our youngest chicken is actually a roo. We've spent so much time with her and she's (he, i suppose. sigh) a close pet and part of the family more than anything else and pretty tightly bonded with my wife and our other...

My 13wk old is crowing nonstop.

I just told my wife and she's obliterated. I think we are gonna try to keep her (him, sigh) but inside over night so when he crows it'll just be annoying to, like, me

I cannot express how sad this makes me.

My 13wk old is crowing nonstop.

If this is true and she's a rooster are there any suggestions for what to do? It's gonna be extremely hard to give Max up. But it's illegal to have one in the city.
