That is what I was reading and yes it was tossed. My husband wanted a picture of it as well.
Our chicks have the small watering containers, so maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch of water is in the base a time.
We just purchased a dozen baby chicks last week and this morning I noticed in their water it looked like a small roundworm. No other reason for it to be anything else since they are only a week or so old and just with each other in a brooder. Is this even possible at their age? Any help and...
Very interesting article. We shouldn't have excess in calcium as they free range most of the day and a pretty good organic feed. I am wondering stress or over crowding. We do have 16 hens to 2 roosters. Trying to move the other rooster to another coop to watch over our 14 orpingtons.
The coops...
I actually just signed in to ask and search for possibly the same thing. One of my hens either a Amber Link, Sexlink or Isa brown eggs have been found to have hard bunches/lumps on them. Than yesterday I had 3 eggs that has a patches of gritty/sandy tiny specks all bunched together on the outer...

Oh interesting... thank you. Not seeing any other signs in the coop or run nor do the hens show any signs of issues. I wonder if it died inside as it was dead when I found it. All our hens get ACV and Oregano oil in their water daily to help prevent any parasites from making a home in the hens...
Saw this yesterday when collecting eggs.. Not moving... possibly a dead round worm. Can anyone give some insight on finding a dead round worm like this in a coop? Have not found anything else that looks concerning.
Thank you..
LOL yes I know. The turkey is twice the drakes size it is crazy how he thinks he can mate with it. We do not allow the turkeys to free range normally, just when I need to clean their run.
Here is for an update:
I removed the bad egg and went to get the other to candle correctly when she was up and moving. And NO eggs???? Obviously I would had to be something that took it, but we have never had something like that happened before. So we now have removed her and she is out and...
