i hadn’t collected eggs in about a week but i’m not even sure if she is sitting. i am gone most of the day so i can’t really observe her. this was probably a false alarm. i’ll upload pics tonight.
now im not sure if she was broody because i went out there and she was sleeping in the rocks. this might have been a false alarm it’s my first time having poultry 🤷♀️.
my rouen hen went broody, there are 10 eggs from her and and probably my ancona hen too. what are the chances are that some if them will hatch, if so, how many? i’ll post candling pics.
Can anyone take in Pekin ducks around El Paso? One of my friends messaged me about taking in ducks, and when i asked why he said his parents gated community had pekin ducks in their 5 lakes, and they bred quickly, and now there are 50 of them. Apparently they cannot take care of this many, smh...

This looks good but I do live in west Texas so it is a desert😭 I can probably still find some though. I’m in between this and pine shavings. I really just want to make the ground softer and their feet, and mor importantly, have less flies. I think I might plant mint also- I know it speeds like...
Sorry if this has been discussed before. Is there any bedding I can put in my duck run that doesn’t need to replaced? Like wood chips but not as sharp? I see people use pine shaving (I use them in my coop) but those seem to have to be replaced and stay wet for a long time. Any suggestions?
I think you said that was a gray mallard-gray mallards are drakes- but that looks like a Swedish. Mallards are much smaller, and you girls are Pekín? And welsh harlequin? and he is about the smae size. Here is a photo of a Swedish then a photo of a mallard drake. The old owners don’t sound very...
Those are so pretty. A random buff may have got in or their parents may be mixed. That last one though😍 I love that he has the bin and pattern but still is tan. 😍😍😍
The white is Pekín, the mallard looking one is probably a drake Rouen(I have some that just started to get their gray feathers), and honestly I’m not sure for the black spotted one. I have never heard of a Cayuga turning white, and it doesn’t have the sheen- ⭐️they actually do turn white so...
I’m finished with him. I took of more scab than the last image I posted. His feet are wrapped and I learned it’s better to go inbetween the toes like I did on the second on. Oh well. I will do the next time I change the bandages
