Thanks for your concern... No I don't have kids... True not a good thing but he's a good rooster for the flock... Predators like dogs can't go near my flock cause he attacks them and we have a lot of stray dogs in the area so I need a rooster like him...
Hi guys!! Meet my rooster Buddy.. He's a Hubbard breed and he is huge😊🐓 He's also very mean (I think that the saying Never turn your back on a rooster is very him!) cause he's very protective of the girls....
I've done it... My broody hen was sitting on unfertilized eggs and I think it was 18 days I bought chicks gave it to her and it broke her broodiness.. I read somewhere that as long as she hears chicks chirping that would actually activate mommy mode and break her broodiness
i know it's a Black Australorp hen and it's her first time to become broody so i'm a bit hesitant to switch the eggs...I've been through a lot of Broody hens before and this is the first time that none of the eggs are fertile and i don't want to waste the broody hens time or try to break her out...
I need help...I have a broody hen and it's been 10 days, did an initial candling of her eggs and it seems most of the eggs are empty...I have new fertilised eggs is it okay to switch the old eggs to the new ones at this stage of her broodiness?
Thanks for any help!!
Can someone tell me what's going on with my chick...What can I do to cure it?
Picture is of the same chick...the closed eye is the right eye the other picture is the left eye...
Thank you for any help....
Good day!! I'd like to breed Vantress chicken but all i've read is that they have to be culled at 45 days cause that would be humane... Any advice....can i let them live long enough to lay eggs? Please advice.....
Unfortunately I was using crushed egg shells but this led to my hens having an affinity for the egg shells that they are cracking some of the eggs in their nest...had to retrain them not to do that anymore so I'm avoiding using egg shells...will probably try the layer feed route and if it does...
My Hubbard hen has started laying eggs a month ago and I noticed that the egg shells are thin. At first I didn't mind since the eggs weren't fertilized so we just used the eggs for food. But now my Hubbard rooster has already mated with her and that she has started laying fertilized eggs and I...
