Her last egg was a week ago. Her crop was empty this morning. No lice or mites. 10 months old. All flock crumbles. We throw herbs in here and there. Corn, black oil sunflowers, meal worms for snacks. Occasional kitchen scraps.
I have a barred rock hen with green drainage from her vent. We're doing Epsom salt baths and antifungal spray but doesn't seem to be getting better. She is eating and drinking but is sluggish. Is it vent gleet?
She doesn't free range unless we are outside with her. She acts completely normal. No trauma, no attack. She's active, eating, drinking, pooping. She hasn't laid her first egg yet but did recently start squating. The crust doesn't turn red. The would was open and bled. A friend of mine thinks...
She has spots all over. Both side and her neck. Her skin is otherwise healthy. No redness, irritation, or trauma. We don't have roosters. No one has been picking on her. A friend of mine just said she thinks it's a fungal infection.
This came up on our buff orpington. It's hard, dry, and black. It surrounds the base of feather shafts. No signs of skin irritation or mites or anything that we can see. None of the other girls are affected. We soaked her. A piece came off but left a wound underneath. Any ideas on what it is or...
Thanks. That is great info but I don't think we have a crop issue. The crop feels fine. She doesn't smell sour as the article mentioned. She feels thin and boney. She's barely hanging on now. 😭💔
I have a 17 week old Rhode Island Red. She is lethargic, nit able to stand, drinking some but not eating. She is shaking her head some and appears to have something in her throat. I assume gape worms. We de-wormed the flock last night and she's worse today. Is there anything I can do to save her?
