has anyone ever dropped a egg while trying to candle it...well i did and i feel horrible.

so the morning i was sitting by the brooder looking at the chicks and half of them have single comb and others have rose comb....since i cant tell them apart are the rose combed one the dominics and the single comb the sex link????

ok i've never had a broody hen so please don't get frustrated with me...anyway last spring i got bbr old English chicks and i ended up keeping just 1 hen...well she just laid her first eggs the last 3 days and usually when i go in the pen she runs, now i've noticed since she laid the eggs she...

my rooster is black breasted red old engish and i think he is full blooded at least thats what the guy i got him from said and he looks it...i guess i will just have to wait...there is only one im sure is the hybrid the chick has some white on is belly other than that its all black even its beak...

well there hatching...i have 2 hatched and 2 more that are pipped one problem though.....i am also hatching Dominicks and the chicks look the same!

ok sorry its taking so long ...the Dominique hen got hurt by a raccoon sense i moved her and she died ...so just today i put another one in a pen with my game roo and raccoon proofed my pen so i guess i try again....

i am getting some red stars in the spring...i was told that even if you have a rooster that there infertile. like you can incubate them and nothing happens.....is this really true i cant seem to believe it

i am planning on hatching some bobwhites in the spring and i have a cage 3.5 fot by4.5 foot with about 2 foot tall....with a next box off the side about how many could go in there comfortably?....and i was planning on putting ratio to 1 male to 1 female is that good?

alright so this morning one of my hens was bleeding bad and i couldn't tell what was wrong..so i separated her and put her in a little kennel ...and all neck and some body feathers are ripped out and cut up and the skin/hide is riped completely from the back of the comb to the beginning of her...

it will be a while i got to let her be there like a month be for i incubate the eggs so it will be like 2 months till chicks...if everything goes as planned!!!
