I was suspicious because of this! The other olive egger cross I have has a straight comb and I was sure he was a roo weeks ago because his comb was so large and red. He has the same red markings as this. Was really hoping this one was a pullet!

My starlight green egger just started laying. Her first 2 eggs didn't have a white coating, but her last couple have looked like the one on the left. Does anyone know what causes eggs to have the white coating? Another one of my hens has been laying eggs with it too, and occasionally lays some...

One has a much larger and redder comb so they are easy to tell apart, but they could both be. The other one just hasn't acted ready to lay yet.

I have 2 barred rocks, 2 americanas, 1 starlight green egger, and a black copper maran. All hatched in July. One of the barred rock is the only one I've ever seen sitting in the nest boxes and laying eggs, but some of the eggs have been alot darker. Can they vary this much in color?

Does anyone know what breed this chick is? I bought it from TSC, it was supposed to be a French Black Copper Marans, but I'm pretty sure it's not. It's 3 weeks old in the 2nd pic.
