    Chicks tumbling the other eggs

They aren’t dry yet. They’ve pushed all the eggs to the outer edge of the incubator so they aren’t getting tumbled around so much any more.

    Chicks tumbling the other eggs

Two chicks hatched at day 18. I understand that it’s normal for them to bump around the other eggs, but these two are extra lively. Is it okay for them to be playing demolition derby while the others haven’t even pipped yet? https://share.icloud.com/photos/085Rn_pmNHRkCMCFBEVn3xuNQ

Sponsored Post Nestera Coop Giveaway! Total worth $1595

Sustainability is one of our main goals on our little farm that’s growing every day. I love that Nestera had designed these coops around recycling and sustainability. My 10 year old daughter wants to be a farmer when she grows up. A coop that’s backed with a 25 year warranty sets a standard for...

What breed are these? They were mixed in with the Jersey Giant chicks that I got.

What do the their rooster combs usually look like because the second one has two symmetrical side springs shooting off either side of the back of his comb. Like little horns.

Ive never seen a chick comb like this. What type of comb is it? I don’t know the breed. It was supposed to be a Jersey Giant but isnt.

Here he is a little older now. The side sprigs on his comb are still very symmetrical. They look neat.

It was in the bin with the Jersey Giant pullets at tractor supply. I’m thinking that whatever it was, its bin had run low so they put them all in the same one. I’ve heard they get their chicks from Hoovers, but I haven’t been able yo identify it. This was it last week.

Does anyone know what she is?

Thanks! I’ll have a look there. I may call the local feed store and see which hatchery they use too.

Can anyone tell me what breed she is or what she may be mixed with.

I tried. She’s not very approachable and my zoom is not great. I’ll try when she goes to sleep.

Can anyone tell me what breed she is or what she may be mixed with.

I would be kind of surprised if she was purebred. The one time my husband goes to a chicken swap without me he gets a chicken and asks zero questions.

Can anyone tell me what breed she is or what she may be mixed with.

Thank you! I’ve always heard that they aren’t good layers, but she’s my most dependable girl. I get 5-6 eggs from her a week.

Does anyone know what she is?

A friend gave this one to my daughter, but couldn’t remember what she is (I’m just assuming she is a she) She has about 4 feathers on each foot, and the underside of her feet are pale/yellow. Sweet, but very cautious maybe because she’s new.

Can anyone tell me what breed she is or what she may be mixed with.

She is a bantam. She lays little white eggs almost every day. She is sweet but afraid of everything. Also, the black spot on her face is dirt.
