How to stop chicks from kicking bedding into their water?

This works great also. It’s a dog tray with puppy pad taped. It has a lip, so no more bedding in their water or feed.

    Respiratory Issue

Indio gigantes need more calcium at about 4 weeks old because of how quickly and big they grow. They are not your typical chicken. They grow to be about 3-4 feet tall in a matter of months. If their legs can’t hold their upper body, then they can’t walk. This is why you reduce their protein and...

    Respiratory Issue

I have now put them on chick feed and will move them to layer feed at 8 weeks old. Hoping this helps them. They are doing really well, other than the on and off sneezing and gasping. It lasts a short time, then they seem normal. So strange.

They are Indios and they already grow very fast. Higher protein in fast growing birds will cause more problems, and/or kidney failure.

The feed is not dusty. They have not been eating or picking at the pads, only at the feed they knock over onto it.

    Respiratory Issue

Hello. I am so confused about what is going on with my 4 week old Indio Gigantes. Three of them seem to be gasping for air on and off for the past 3 days. It lasts for about 15 minutes up to an hour or more, then they breathe normal. They eat and drink fine. They are inside our home, so no...
