Update:
I tried giving her the same food as her previous person did and it did not help.
I was potentially going to try treating for sour crop, but her sneezing and gurgling were getting worse so I treated her with Denagard and she got better.
I got a 6-7 month old serama hen a few weeks ago and I'm trying to figure out what's going on for her.
She eats a LOT and her crop ends up getting huge compared to the serama rooster we have. She's been staying indoors and when she has a normal chicken sleep schedule, it takes more than 8 hours...
I think you might be right! Maybe they missed up "serama" with "Sumatra," similar sounding.
There's hardly any spur bud there, from a distance the other leg doesn't even look like it has a spur bud.
Someone told me this is a full serama hen but she's bigger than any seramas I've seen. Her feathers are iridescent green. She's about a year and a half old and very broody. Can anyone confirm whether she's a serama?
I went through all 157 pages to look for Jelly Bean's hatch pics so you don't have to

The same morning I posted this I had noticed that her crop didn't empty overnight. I'm not sure how long it's been that way, but I fed her warm water/oil and massaged it and it passed. Afterwards she is not nearly as interested in eating her own poo. Maybe she wasn't getting enough nutrition...
I got a 6 month old serama hen a few days ago and I've noticed that she really likes to eat her poop. It's not a once in awhile thing, she does it every time. She'll start by pecking out things like grit but eventually the poop is mostly gone. I know poop eating in general is normal but is...
My partner and I purchased a house in January and the house came with chickens! We started with 20 and now have 28. We haven't had the heart to break broody hens but we decided that next season we will get ourselves to do it. We also got a couple of seramas and silkies since. The chicks are...
My serama rooster's comb has black tips in the morning but they turn red again after I rub them. Is this an indication of an underlying problem? I've heard that a black comb can indicate heart or liver problems. It looks like of like these pictures before rubbing...
