Broody hatching and broken egg HELP!!!

Is there anyway to borrow or buy an incubator from someone asap. That's the only way I think you'll save them. They need a higher humidity to hatch atleast 65%. That close to hatch time is very hard to just let them go, I'm so so sorry! I've had losses and it's just hard to understand and...

I believe the darker ones are RIR and the lighter ones could be New Hampshire reds or production reds.

5 week old chicks, just sneezing

I know they make pet litter pellets, I wonder how they would work.

My chickens stopped laying, and one won't come out of the coop!

I would consider stress, in which case it will just take a little while to lay again. But I wonder if you have a broody, which make a lot of sense. She just might want to hatch some eggs, you can break it or just give it time. Keep taking her eggs away and eventually she'll give up. It's normal...

5 week old chicks, just sneezing

I actually have had the same issue with my 2 weeks olds and I posted about it and didn't get much response. I added aureomycin to their feed a couple of days ago. I will be adding electrolytes on Friday when I can make it in to them farm store. I took out all the pine shavings and i'm just using...

    integration

They should be fine. I would just worry about the older ones being rowdy and trampling the younger ones. Just keep on eye on them and make sure the younger one is not distressed.

Too cold out in Utah today for littles? thoughts

As old as they are, they should be fully feathered and should be fine. I would have them out all day regardless of weather for a several days and then back in the house just at night if your worried about them. But they should be fine, as long as the a nice dry coop to go into away from wind and...

Had a couple questions, this is my first time

I'm curious. Are some of these bantams? That would explain why some are smaller. You probably have a mix of standard size and some bantams. Do you know the breeds?

    Barred Rock and Black Australorps

I will always favor Barred rocks, they are just a great dual purpose bird. They lay the best of any breed I have owned. If they all grow up together you shouldn't have to many issues with bullying.

Best Small Sized Broody? Modern Game or Old English Game?

My pure bred silkies are constantly broody, they have by far been the best mothers. Bantam Cochin also make great mothers and brooders.

    Introducing new chickens

I know it can be done. But I just for safety of my birds, keep my silkies in a different coop all together. I tried to Introduce a single silkie rooster once and it didn't work. But what I found works is adding one at time to my silkie pen/coop. I have a EE who just did not do well with my other...

Putting two roosters togather for the first time

I've never had much success putting roosters together that didn't grow up together. They will fight to the death. You could try slowly integrating them as a group and see if it works or not. Keep them in separate pens, but together and see if it they get use to each other or not. That's...

    Help~ chicken integration gone wrong

Integrating is always a challenge, it's always harder on just one. I usually like to integrate 3 or more. Have a pen near the older flock, so that they can see each other, but the younger ones can be safe. I like to keep them separate, but together for about 2 weeks and then let them out and...

Candeled egg not sure if it's fertile or just porus?

Give it until day 7 of sitting, then check it again. If you don't see spider veins, it's most likely not fertile.

    I NEED YOUR HELP ASAP

It's rare to get a 100% percent hatch, don't be to hard on yourself if one or two don't make it. Give them up to 24 hours and see if they hatch or not. Then step in and help. My concern would be the one with the pip at the wrong end, it didn't turn as it should have. There are some great posts...
