I gave mine laying crumbles that I put hot water on and she ate them fine. What all does she eat that keeps impacting her? Mine are free range and I cant tell what they eat but this worries me that she will do it again. Good Luck.
I would wrap it to keep it clean. I dont think there is anything else you can do for her. I have horses too, and the chickens try to challange them for their grain, but they realize the horses are bigger and eat what the horses drop. The horses dont even pay attention to them. God luck and keep...
I would let them eat as much as they want. I have never heard of a chicken eating themselves to death. Mine eat alot too but with winter coming on I'd rather them be fat than skinny. They dont eat as much in the summer. They are busy eating bugs, but now the bugs are gone so they eat more feed.
I felt the same way when my favorite hen passed away. It was very hard to deal with. I had a small funeral with my friends and I made her a ceramic cross with her name on it and burried her in her favorite spot in the yard. It made me feel better. I am so sorry about your loss. Its never easy.
Once again, I tried everything! Nestle passed away in her sleep last night. I was going to take her to the chiropractor on Friday. She started having trouble breathing and then she died. I am not sure what was wrong but she is better off in heaven. Keep her in your prayers. Her funeral is tomorrow.
My hen lost use of her right leg about 4 weeks ago. I have been on here posting and she doesnt seem to be getting better. There arent any vets around here that will look at her, but I am taking her to the chiropractor on Friday to see if her can help her. It sounds about the same except I dont...
OK, made her sling. She didnt like it. I dont know if it hurt her or just made her uncomfortable. She can move her leg, and she has feeling in it. I am going to try this for a while and see if she will start to move it on her own. Wish me luck!
Sorry about your hen. Its hard to lose one when you care about them so much. Mine hang out under my truck all the time and I am worried about the same thing. It will be ok.
Wow, that is awesome. I am making her something tomorrow and that page was a big help. Does anyone know anything about Mareks? Would it happen to her over night? I am pretty convinced she got hurt, but I dont know anything about Mareks. Thanks for all your help.
She is out of my game rooster and a hen that looks like a pheniox. She is about 3 months old and isnt very big. She was fine one day and hurt the next. I have a rottweiler who is a big dork, and I think he was playing and maybe stepped on her. He doesnt pay attention he just plays. He would...
I still have her seperated so they cant pick on her. If I can figure out how to make something, I will get pictures and post them if it works. I am going to try and make something Saturday morning.
OK, so I have been trying to recuperate my hen. I found her now about 3 weeks ago and she couldnt walk. I put her in a small cage and tried to heal her. I have posted forums about her and seems like she should be improving by now. I know she has feeling and can move the leg, she just wont. I am...
you can rinse her eyes with saline solution if they get shut. I did it to mine when he got beat up and it helped him. Be sure she is getting plenty to eat and drink. Let her heal before she is returned to the flock and then watch so they dont beat her up. Good Luck
