Hi everyone,
We had something come into the coop the other night ( we think it's a weasel)
It killed a few of our ducks and injured two.
Looking for some advice on this poor little guy..
He has had it head tucked like this for 3 days.. he can slightly lift it at times but we aren't sure if...
The video would not let me upload it but this is his normal stance lately :( and now he is having running poops.
he is constanstly shaking his head as well- I have notice his head is VERY hot to the touch but it is still bright red..
Has he been fighting with other roosters?- he is our only rooster
Any feed that was moldy or rancid, eat any compost?- no
Any lice/mites?- none
Is his crop emptying?- yes
How old is he?- 9 -11 months
Have you ever had respiratory disease in your flock?- no
What do you feed including treats?-...
Good Evening,
We found our rooster last Friday with a droopy neck and did some research and assumed it was wry neck.
We immediately isolated him and began providing him with vitamin e and water.
We have also administered Vet RX, Vitamin supplements and mushy food.
His comb is still very red...
I found my hen like this all of a sudden tonight!
She was fine earlier
She can't hold her head up and is shaking her head :(:(
Here is a picture
So sad not sure what's happened to her !
Good Evening,
We seem to have a new issues where our chickens are up in the middle of the night now.
The rooster is now even crowing.
I have checked for mites, and anything around that could be disturbing them and nothing.
They seem to just be walking around their inclosure and the rooster...
Yes for sure! I am very new to chickens so this is a whole new level of worrisome!
I removed the roosters last night and now the other hens are attacking this poor hen who is obviously helpless- I have since removed her as well.
We had 5 chickens before and NOTHING ever like this happened...
This is new behaviour. I am trying to figure out what is going on in there.
They have plenty of room to roam and are given LOTS of treats to keep them busy...
Our first round of chickens were nothing like this...
Morning guys! so now we have a bigger issue!
I have removed BOTH roosters and now the poor injured one is being attacked by the other hens- is this to do with pecking order or?
I have now removed the injured one as well.
I am loosing my chickens like flies. I had 13 and now I am down to 6 and...
I am definitely not eating him.
My girls are about the same age but this one is probably my biggest hen he is attacking.
I assumed I would have to isolate him or get rid of him unfortunately.
I had some other illnesses in the flock ( 2 hens with busted legs, and one with an eye infection)...
He is about 3-4 months old. He has injured other ones as well I believe now. This poor hen is showing the same symptoms as the other hens that were injured. He can't use the right leg and has no balance. I put the hen down to get some water and food and he came running over and started attacking...
Good Morning!
Our rooster is being very aggressive towards our hens.
I came out this morning to check on them and the one was limping and found the rooster trying to attack her.
This is probably the 4th one he has injured.
How do I handle this?
The poor hen is so helpless as its leg is...
Good Morning,
The other one that does not have his head down is alert, eating and drinking, he just can't seem to put his foot down.
I have called around various vets in our area and no one deals with chickens.
thank you for the advice
