    Bullying… at my wits end!

We had a rooster up until recently. He was supposed to be a hen. Technically we’re not allowed one due to city ordinance. We kept him around for 10 months or so anyway becasue we loved him. He was a bantam and such a cool guy, but his incessant crowing got to be too much and we already have an...

    Bullying… at my wits end!

Just wanted to provide an update… we are less than a week post removal of the pinless peepers from my mean girls. We had the one reoccurrence of pecking that drew blood on the first day of the removal and blessedly have had no other incidents. 🙌🏻 I have been down to the coop every afternoon...

    Bullying… at my wits end!

They are not and I am beginning to understand that that may be a part of the problem. Knowing I was only allowed limited chickens I was going for varying egg colorations when I selected them having not done much research before picking breeds. I am very new to chickens and was overzealous at the...

    Bullying… at my wits end!

They are on 18% Nutrena feather fixer currently. The protein content that I feed has never been below 18%. They were on all flock when I had a rooster in the flock, which was 20%.

    Bullying… at my wits end!

I know bullying is discussed a lot here and I’ve read through probably all of the threads, I have followed all of the advice and I’m still having a problem. Hoping someone wiser than me may have something new to offer. I have 5 hens that are just over a year old, they have been raised together...

    ID help

Can anyone help me ID the breed of this hen? She was purchased as a chick from TSC and was labeled as a Prairie Bluebell but as she has grown I am not convinced because everything I’ve read about Prairie Bluebells says they only have pea combs and are a lightweight bird. This is my biggest girl...

    Feather picking? Help needed…

I’m pretty sure I have a feather picker or two in my flock. I’ve got 9 hens and 1 rooster. The rooster was a surprise, he was sold to me as a hen..but we love the crazy fella anyway. Anyhoo… I have a mixed flock, 3 RIR hens, 4 silver laced Wyandottes, and 2 black Australorps (I think, not...

    Pretty sure I’ve got a roo…

New chicken mama here… our girls are about 7 weeks old and for the last couple weeks we’ve begun to suspect that one of our RIR ladies is in fact a roo. His/her comb and wattle are much larger and brighter than the rest of the flock. Just looking for confirmation that my suspicions are correct...
