Started off with just wanting 6...about 3 years ago. For some reason, we now have 49, and have plans on doing a few more hatch-outs this coming season.
Temps just dropped to 21F and wind gusts of up to 60mph...just got back in from checking up on my girls...everyone seems fine and I got a 4 egg reward..hehe
Let me know if/when he wants to try the rifle out at my rifle range! I've got a few Enfields that I've yet to test out..even after over 10 years sitting in my collection.
Just ask and if I see your post, I'll offer to take them..hehe. Seriously, if you want to rehome them, I would take them in, knowing that they've stopped their egg production. In return, I will let you know that I do not plan on having them for meals, but letting them live out their natural...
Lorain County here. Why you wanna cull the original flock? I still have my original hens, and even though they've stopped laying eggs, I've allowed for them to live out their remaining lives with us. I know the feed gets expensive taking care of these "freeloaders" , but we don't mind.
