    Aggressive Hen

Hello! I realize now I didn't make much sense haha I swapped the bullying victim and another hen who started to be picked on for two of my neighbors hens. I'm not sure exactly how many girls she has, but with the new additions I have six again.

    Aggressive Hen

Hi, folks. I had six chickens, and they all of a sudden started picking on one of the group pretty badly, so I swapped chickens with a neighbor. Now this girl is being super aggressive in her new flock, and my neighbor isn't sure what to do. She keeps her separated from the rest of the flock...

    Abnormally sleepy chick

Hi, folks. I have a chick that's struggling and I don't know what to do for it. They hatched Monday or Tuesday of this week. She came in a group of 3 Rhode Island reds that we got from a reputable breeder. On Wednesday night, we found her laying on her side and when we reached into the brooder...

    Eggs... Falling out?

Will do! We had provided shells when they first started, but then I saw they were included in their feed so I backed off, but I'll definitely set it up again. Thank you!

    Eggs... Falling out?

We're feeding a later crumble that says it has oyster in it, they also get treats once in a while that are mostly veggies or mealworms and other protein.

    Eggs... Falling out?

We're doing a feed that says it has included oyster shell for calcium, but would it be a good idea to set up a separate feeder with more shell? The EEs gave us maybe one or two eggs in the fall but started regularly laying at the end of winter. Thank you for your reply and help!

    Eggs... Falling out?

Hi folks. I have two Easter eggers that are about a year old. I can't tell which is doing what but I've noticed that one of them keeps skipping laying an egg for the day. Also two or three times I've seen one of them lay an egg while roosting for the night - it's almost like it just falls out...

    Fowl pox?

I really hope so, I'd be sad if they're being pecked like that but much less worried.

    Fowl pox?

Did you have to do anything as far as the human side goes? Like can you still eat their eggs?

    Fowl pox?

Hi, folks. I noticed some spots on my girls and I'm wondering if this is fowl pox. A few things, we're in Colorado and it's been freezing lately, so I don't think any mosquitoes have been around at all. The girls who have the most suspicious combs are at the bottom of the pecking order. They're...

    Healing frostbite?

Oh, okay! I was wondering. Is there anything I need to watch out for, or will it just fall off?

    Healing frostbite?

Here's a picture, we added a large vent that can open and close, kind of like a floor register. I think we didn't have good enough ventilation and on top of that I tried the deep litter method. I've completely removed the old litter and won't be doing that again. Hygrometer says that at most it...

    Healing frostbite?

One of my ladies got a bit of frostbite the other day. We completely revamped the coop ventilation, added a monitor and she seemed to be doing well. I sprayed a little Vetericyn during the warmest part of the day before obsessively researching and seeing that group consensus was to let it be. I...
