    Crop issues

She seems to be just fine. I ended up giving her another coconut oil treatment and an epsom salt flush, neither of which did much for her crop. At that point I decided that I will just let her back out - I kept her confined for another day so I could slowly reintroduce food and then I let her...

Thank you! That's what I've been leaning towards. Should I keep doing any treatments though?

    Crop issues

Hello All, I got a Wyandotte chicken, just under 1 year old that seems to be having some crop issue. I noticed that her crop was really bulging out, so thinking that it's sour crop or impacted crop I isolated her in a crate inside the coop with just water and have been giving her some yogurt...

    Injured chicken slow to recover

No, I wouldn't call it a squeal at all. More like a soft whimper. I just checked on her and she's laying quietly. I guess she makes that sound mostly after I feed her and put her down (though it's possible that I just pay more attention at that time). Next time I feed I'll try to get her on video.

    Injured chicken slow to recover

Yes, I am force feeding her, alternating between egg, cooked ground beef and their regular fermented feed mash. In the last couple days if I put the ground beef in front of her she'll get a couple of pecks herself, but it's litterally just a few pecks. My husband said he saw her pecking at the...

    Injured chicken slow to recover

Thank you all so much for the suggestions! You guys are the best! I am giving her Vit B, and will start Vit E when I get ahold of it. I will also try the aspirin idea to see if it helps. I didn't really clean her wound because by the time I noticed it, it seemed kinda dried up and like it would...

    Injured chicken slow to recover

Thank you all for the responses! Attached are a picture of her poop (which has gotten a bit more solid) and her wound. What do you think? She seems to be doing a tiny bit better, but I really worry about her legs - why is she not using them? She's able to flap her wings, but her legs feel...

    Injured chicken slow to recover

Hi All! I'm hoping to hear some ideas and thoughts from you chicken experts on what may be going and what I can expect. I have a 12wk old Barred Rock chicken that was (most likely) physically injured a week ago. I don't see any terrible wounds but she doesn't want to move, eat or drink. Here's...
