Change in hen's demeanour and behaviour

Looking for some advice about this ISA Brown hen, about 3 years old. Has been less active in the last couple weeks, comb's fallen down and not as bright. Shares the coop with 6 other ISA Brown hens. Diet consists of Golden Layer pellets and some veggie greens. The other hens have been acting...

Hen not moving much, keeps trying to sleep

Thanks all! The symptoms seem to be more ascites than egg bound. I'll look into draining, thanks so much

Hen not moving much, keeps trying to sleep

Ah maybe egg bound? https://ibb.co/Dp5bfn2 Quite protruded but very soft, not hard like an egg. The lack of feathers in the region has been like that since we got her, we thought dusting her would help new feathers sprout if it was lice/mite related but nothing has grown since.

Hen not moving much, keeps trying to sleep

    Mites and deep litter system

Thank you! We've done two rounds of the poultry dusting and it seems to be helping. Now I'll need to figure out how to reduce the chances of it happening again.

    Mites and deep litter system

Thanks for the quick reply! I've uploaded some photos. https://ibb.co/9VjYjmJ https://ibb.co/tKRNZFx Yep, AU. Went through their body, found a couple lice (I think?). They didn't smear with blood. I'll try the poultry dust, thanks! So just compost the whole deep litter system, treat all of...

    Mites and deep litter system

Have a couple chickens missing feathers (neck and butt areas) while the other two chickens aren't missing any. I'm thinking it's unlikely to be feather moulting because it's currently Summer in the southern hemisphere so I was wondering if it could be mites or lice. Egg production has also gone...
