    We started at 31F at 3:30 AM. Cracked 50 at noon and the bees went wild. Still flying strong as I just came in from cutting more pieces for another hive. Now we can wait for the possible 12 to 18 inches of .............. Don't care, have all we need.

    Rats! More snow coming. Prediction is accurate, could get 2" or 12" , GFS and EUR are at odds :barnie. I don't care, 50 F tomorrow have some hive part milling to finish than I can finish painting, frames that need assembling. Sanity work.

    Last we had snow was April 1958. I have just lifted the back of the cover and insulation to peek, not a full removal. Too cold yet.

    No chance here of taking the tops completely off, mid 40s maybe and more snow Sunday night into Monday morning. Just wonderful! I'm starting to get a little envious of you folks that are getting into the boxes. :D

    3 years ago while visiting an apiary and picking up supplies keeper said and showed us the receipt, he just paid $600 for two queens here in Jersey. He is heavy into breeding and genetics.

    Ours really not using the blocks, just using the feeder vent for an exit. Also decided against the banana. Don't want that black gooey mess in the hive. Maybe another 2 wks before pollen patties. Can only lift the top cover for a quick look. Still cold here.
